Rhonda Brenzikofer is landscaping the front of Marion Senior Center. This is a memorial for her late husband, Richard. It will add significantly to our appearance.
It was noted that the recent Kansas! magazine lists Marion’s Big Scoop in an article about ice cream shops.
Shirley Bowers played a song “My Sweatheart’s the Man in the Moon” in honor of the super moon. She also played “M is for the Million Things She Gave Me,” on May 11.
Senior Center Day was May 16. The program after lunch was given by Gayla Ratzlaff, Marion County Department on aging coordinator. She talked about the Affordable Care Act and other issues.
We will be closed for Memorial Day, May 28.
Come visit the center on May 30 for a musical program by Steve Vincent of Hillsboro.
Marion Senior Center bid farewell to volunteer Charles Montgomery, who is moving to Maryland to be near family. He delivered many Meals on Wheels and was the computer technician when he and Virginia Downing filed income tax returns for older people. He also is a published author.
