CORRESPONDENTS: Marion Senior Center news

Punxsutawney Phil must have seen his shadow, so six more weeks of winter are in store. This winter has been mild so far, and we won’t complain.

Barb Bitner took homemade banana bread to the Marion Senior Center recently as an extra treat.

The center is planning another Walk Kansas team, named Senior Center Sensations.

The center now has boxes where people can drop off grocery coupons and box tops for education to benefit Marion Elementary School.

Dick Varenhorst brought in information about a pictorial book to honor veterans so center patrons could participate.

Erica Mears of Midwest Hearing spoke Feb. 8 at the center. She told patrons about the causes of dizziness and how to cope with it.

Wanda Williams, a self-descried “fast and loud” pianist will perform Feb. 22.
