Raymond Koegebehn celebrated his birthday Feb. 9 at Marion Senior Center. That day the commodities came in; Gary and Karen Chaput picked them up at Council Grove. Helping to sack the commodities were Shirley Moore, Gene Winkler, Becca Neal, Val Morgan, Clayton Hamm, Larry and Thelma Blosser, and Keith Holtsclaw.
The center has photo release forms for the tribute book to Marion County veterans, “Our Nation Called.”
The center had an eventful Valentine’s Day. Wilma Gilmer’s 90th birthday and Cathy Clyde’s birthdays were celebrated. Guests had cake and cupcakes, and ice cream for the party. Shirley Moore brought M&Ms and Pearl Helmer brought candy cars. Patrons also sang “Happy Anniversary” to Ernie and Kay Williams who came in to pick up their completed quilt.
Senior Center Day was Feb. 15. The program was provided by Janet Hett Plank’s nine children. They each played the piano or received poetry. Their piano teacher, Wanda Williams, came by and played a duet with one of the boys.
Everyone is welcome to visit the center Feb. 29. The program “Life is Like a Box of Chocolates,” will be presented by Donna Becker of Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice. She is bringing a chocolate fountain.
