Pigs celebrated

Marion Senior Center correspondent

Seniors celebrated National Pig Day March 1 at the center with pig trivia and a quote from Winston Churchill, “Dogs look up to us, cats look down on us, pigs treat us as equals.”

Rosalie Schmidtberger and Jackie Hett were welcomed as dining room volunteers.

Sue Clough celebrated her birthday Feb. 28 at the center.

On March 1, the center had five visitors from California.

Tea towels are ready to be embroidered.

The scheduled program for March 2 was unable to make it, so two of the seniors lead a sing-along of Irish songs. Clough was the song leader and Shirley Bowers played the piano. The Kitchen Chorus sang the Whiffenpoof song. Members of the chorus were Betty Crumrine, Connie Fisher, Theresa Graham, Judy Dannenfelser, and Barb Bitner.

Seniors are reminded to wear green to the center March 17 for St. Patrick’s Day.
