Seniors to hear about mission

Marion Senior Center correspondent

Retired pastor Bob Priest of Eastmoor United Methodist Church will present a program after the Marion Senior Center’s regular lunch June 29 on his mission trip to Zimbabwe.

Dresses for little girls, vests, aprons, caps, pillows, Kansas City Chiefs placements, and a Kansas State University cap are among new items in the center’s craft corner.

Clayton Hamm, Jerry Kline, Norman Funk, and Shirley Moore hauled away branches from a tree that was cut down near the center’s entrance.

Community gardeners from Florence donated packaged turnips to be given away to Senior Center clients.

Darrell Weigart provided ice cream cups to celebrate his birthday June 14.

Seniors recited the Pledge of Allegiance and explored flag trivia to celebrate Flag Day.

Marilyn Geis was chosen as the center’s nominee for Senior Citizens of Marion County Inc. as a representative at an annual senior fair in September in Salina.
