While delivering Meals on Wheels, Fred Puttroff noticed a client was ill. The senior center informed a family member, who helped the client get medical attention.
Jerry Harp and Shirley Moore celebrated birthdays April 29, although Moore’s was earlier in the month. Theresa Graham, Sue Clough, Joan Meyer, Mary Hett, Puttroff, and Janet Bryant read poems for Poem in Your Pocket Day.
Elsie Burkholder celebrated her birthday May 3. Shirley Bowers has brought irises to the Senior Center.
The center averaged 52 people for lunch in April, and delivered an average of 45 meals.
Irene Richmond volunteered in the dining room May 4.
The Senior Center Sensations Walk Across Kansas team walked enough to cross Kansas and halfway back by the time the group concluded its program for 2010. New Marion Assisted Living administrator Janet Blue spoke at the center May 5. May 19 is Senior Center Day, and Mick and Noreen Weems will speak about their trip to Colorado.
