Marion Senior Center correspondent

A van-load went to the Crown Uptown Dinner Theatre on July 9 in Wichita. The show was “Disney’s High School Musical.” Those who attended included LaVaughn Klose, Sylvia Helmer, Frankie Turner, Dorothy Conyers, Jean Case, Mary Costello, Joyce Smith, Helen Jantz, Mary Ann Wiens, Dorothy Youk, Virginia Bowers, Bettie Batt, and Leonard Klassen.

Cucumbers and zucchini are starting to arrive at the center, we are still waiting on tomatoes.

Seniors welcomed Barbara Bitner as a substitute in the dining room while our regular volunteers go on vacation.

An efficient crew sacked commodities on July 9. They were Ivanlee Timm, Val Morgan, Shirley Moore, Thelma and Larry Blosser, and Norma Woerz.

John Kline celebrated his birthday at the center on July 10, He and Karen brought four grandchildren to give out ice cream bars as treats. Charles Montgomery celebrated his birthday as well.

Blythe Settle, manager of the Elgin House Bed and Breakfast gave a presentation.

Put on western wear and join us for National Day of the Cowboy on July 24. Dusty Bina will bring his horse again. Due to cowboying, Dusty will come on July 31.

The program for July 29 will be given by Connie Geier, who does marketing for Right at Home.

The center is planning another trip to the Crown Uptown on Aug. 20. The show is “Love, Sex, and the IRS.”
