CORRESPONDENTS: Senior Center

We’re enjoying these unseasonably nice days this week, knowing winter will return. Isn’t Kansas weather great?

Senior Center Day was Jan. 21. After lunch, Shirley Bowers told of her recent cruise as part of a family wedding celebration.

Some of us experienced Kansas this past week through the eyes of someone else. As the hospice volunteers were meeting, a very agitated woman came bursting in the door, with her arms full of informative papers. She had been assigned the State of Kansas to distribute information about the change to digital television. The state was so big, she drove and drove. What if she got stuck in a cornfield? Who would find her, she asked. She did say Kansas people were “superb” and she wouldn’t mind living here.

Come join us for lunch Feb. 4. After lunch, Jamie Potter, a veterans services representative, will speak. She is here at 1:30 p.m. every first and third Tuesday.

Starting Feb. 4, audiologist Steve Bradbury will offer his services at 10 a.m., the first Wednesday of the month.
