CORRESPONDENTS: Senior Center

Marion Senior Center correspondent

This is a week beginning with the dreaded last day of the month paperwork for me and then the start of October and its “bright blue weather.” Kansas does have some great weather.

There is a new report to fill out listing volunteer numbers and what they do. I read this to the group so they could see how much is actually done at the senior center by volunteers.

We welcomed Fred Puttroff September 29 as a dining room volunteer. Yes, guys can do those jobs too.

Henrietta Waner was congratulated for achieving a cost per meal in September of 98 cents.

Nikki Teel, administrator at Golden Living Center, and Kelly Karber, director of nursing, made a presentation Oct. 1. They discussed the five myths about nursing homes and brought us goody bags with candy.

Come join us Oct. 15, Senior Center Day. There will be a program after lunch.
