Residents mourn death of Don Heiser

Many Tampa people attended the visitation for Don Heiser June 28 at Zeiner Funeral Home in Marion and the funeral June 29 at Strassburg Baptist Church. Heiser grew up in this community.

Lynn Kleiber of Salina, Leona Kleiber, and Adeline Bernhardt were among those attending the funeral and luncheon. Gary and Carole Spohn and Georgia Spohn attended visitation in Marion.

Word was received of the June 26 death of Gerald Svoboda.

Jerry and Jeanne Rziha are the grandparents of Juliet Rachel Herron, born June 13 to Jim and Diane Herron of Chippewa Falls, Wis. She weighed 8 pounds, 8 ounces. Her paternal grandfather is Floyd Herron of Wichita. Her great-grandmother is Bonnie Haslouer of Abilene. Helping the parents welcome their baby sister are Andrew, 9; Peter, 8; Maria, 5; John, 3; and Michael, 1. Jeanne stayed a week. Diane’s sister has obtained a part-time job teaching preschool and is helping to care of the children.

Adeline Bernhardt spent June 22 through 27 with Carl and Kathy Hubbard of Wellington. They attended a wedding reception June 25 for Josh and Megan Martin at the Harvey County East Lake. They attended a production of “Finian’s Rainbow” on June 26.

Deb Hall of Herington visited Tom and Dee Duggan on June 28.

Tom and Dee Duggan attended the funeral of Joan Donahue on June 22.

Mark Gilford and Nikki Stenzel of Manhattan, Lori Moldenhauer, Lisa Hanschu, and Frank and Anna Mae Stika ate supper out June 26 in Hillsboro in celebration of Anna Mae’s birthday. Lori made cupcakes for the occasion.

Tom Duggan attended a swim meet June 25 in Herington in which his granddaughter, Kaylee Hall, competed.

Edna Backhus, Adeline Bernhardt, and Leona Kleiber attended the prayer service June 21 for Joan Donahue at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Marion.

Donald and Carolyn Srajer of Omaha, Neb., were in the area June 23 through 26 visiting Tillie Hein and Jim and Kris Srajer, Grant and Cole.
