Many Tampa people attended the funeral for Bud Peterson on Sept. 14 at Centre High School. Peterson was a teacher and coach at Centre for many years and was highly respected.
Lucille Kerbs accompanied her daughter, Connie Thompson of Abilene, on Sept. 14 to Salina for dinner out.
Dee Duggan met Betty Schlesener on Sept. 14 in Hope for dinner out.
Many Tampa people, as well as numerous relatives and friends from out of town, attended the rosary Sept 12 and the funeral mass Sept. 13 for Martin Hajek. Hajek was a lifelong resident of the Tampa community.
Dale Clemmer of Salina took Mary Clemmer to Emporia on Sept. 12. They visited Mary’s sister, Adeline Wood, at her rest home to help her celebrate her 95th birthday. Her son, Bill Wood, was their host. The Clemmers also visited Ranney Vogt at his care home.
Sydney Smith spent the day with her great-grandmother, Lucille Kerbs, on Sept. 12.
Tampa people attending Fun Night on Sept. 11 in Ramona included Tom and Dee Duggan, Adeline Bernhardt, Edna Mueller, Tillie Hein, Mary Clemmer, and Connie McMahon.
Grandparents’ Day callers at the home of Frank and Anna Mae Stika were Nikki Stenzel, Anna Weber, and Lori Moldenhauer.
Michael and Sheila Mueller and children of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Phyllis and Rodney Mueller were Sept. 10 dinner guests of Ron and Jody Heath, Danielle, and Tyler of Salina.
Steve Spohn visited his grandmother, Georgia Spohn, on Sept. 10.
Gary and Carole Spohn went Sept. 9 to Ottawa to attend the tractor show there on Sept. 10.
Sept. 9 guests of Phyllis and Rod Mueller were Michael and Sheila Mueller and family of Cheyenne, Wyo. Later in the evening, Paul and Edna Backhus, Jason Backhus, and Alisha Barney joined them.
Jane Vajnar and Georgia Spohn shared supper at Georgia’s place on Sept. 9 and watched their game shows on television.
The Lutheran Women’s Missionary League met Sept. 7 at St. John’s Lutheran Church with Kathy Davis as hostess. Pastor Clark Davis led a Bible study, and Joyce Medley led devotions. The group sang some hymns with Betty Mueller as pianist. Others present were Leona Kleiber, Adelina Bernhardt, and Janet Bielefeld.
Leo and Sue Yanda took Georgia Spohn out for dinner in Durham on Friday.
Bev Reid of Marion and Paul and Edna Backhus attended the visitation for Elda Ebel on Sept. 7 at Jost Funeral Home in Hillsboro, then joined the family at Elda’s former home. They got to see her three children, Don Ebel of Colorado, Dennis Ebel and Debbie Esili, both of Wyoming.
