Peggy Kleiber and Nicholas of Salina visited Leona Kleiber Sunday afternoon. They also spent time during the weekend with Dale and Andrea Klenda and Elijah of Pilsen.
Frank and Anna Mae Stika and Ronnie and Lisa Hanschu and Anna went to the Centre-Wakefield basketball game Monday evening to watch James Weber play.
In spite of cold weather and the Super Bowl game on television, a fair-sized crowd turned out for the monthly community fun night Sunday evening at the senior center.

Tom and Dee Duggan spent Wednesday through Friday with Darla Hall and Adam in Lee’s Summit, Mo. They kept appointments at the University of Kansas Medical Center. En route home Friday, they visited Don and Betty Frick in Topeka and stopped in Herington to pickup Kaylee Hall and her friend, Kalynn Hartman. The girls were overnight guests and the Duggans took them to Junction City Saturday to play basketball.
Students in Mrs. Lorson’s fourth-grade class at Centre Elementary School presented a Kansas Day program Thursday afternoon at Lincolnville Community Building. They led the audience in singing old trail songs and gave short speeches in the characters of famous Kansans. Children from this community who performed included Amanda Salamone as Nancy Landon Kassebaum Baker, Kaitlyn Marler as romance author Rebecca Brandywine, and James Spohn as George Washington Carver.
Jane Vajnar attended a Kansas Day dinner Thursday evening in Marion. The program was a speaker depicting Olympia Brown, an early-day Kansan who fought for the rights of women and African-Americans. Marion County Democratic Women sponsored the annual event which was for the entire community.
Jane Vajnar visited John and Heidi Beal and family Saturday at Burns. Additional visitors were Pat McElroy and some young friends of the Beal children.
