More than 30 motorcycles converged on Tampa Saturday for a belated celebration of Frank Patton’s 92nd birthday. The cyclists were area members of Gold Wing Road Riders Association. Marty Dannar of Wichita, who planned the outing, said Patton started the organization in Kansas and he and his late wife, Gertrude, organized the first motorcycle rally in the state. The group enjoyed dinner at the senior center and presented Patton with a GWRRA T-shirt. Tom and Dee Duggan greeted riders on behalf of the Tampa community.
Frank and Anna Mae Stika and Lisa Hanschu attended the junior and senior high school spring concert Tuesday evening at Centre.
Funeral services for Tony Meyer of Ramona were Tuesday afternoon at St. John Lutheran Church. Meyer spent most of his 97 years in this area. He will be missed.
Georgia Spohn met Lenora Graham of Florence in Hillsboro Monday for a Learning in Retirement program at Tabor College and for dinner.
Carl and Kathy Hubbard of Wellington came Sunday to attend church with her mother, Adeline Bernhardt, in celebration of Mother’s Day. They enjoyed dinner at the café after church.
Lucille Kerbs joined Russ and Julie Kerbs and Rustyn, Jesse and Ashton Smith and Sydney, and Brad and Amy Pagenkopf and sons for Mother’s Day dinner at the café. Lucille also received cards, gifts, and phone calls with Mother’s Day greetings.
Tom and Bev Reid of Marion, Mike and Jennifer Jay and Cody and Kelsie Penner of Hillsboro, Jason Backhus, Brad Backhus, and Paul and Edna Backhus enjoyed Mother’s Day dinner at a restaurant.
