Tampa’s big event this week was the homes tour and community Christmas party on Dec. 4. Many out-of-towners, as well as local people, attended the homes tour with 105 tickets being sold. Beautifully decorated for Christmas, homes on display included the residences of Walt and lona Dietrich, David Mueller and Danny Williamson, David and Catarina Rziha and Leo and Sue Yanda. Festivities continued at the senior center with a soup supper, visit from Santa and games.
Tom and Dee Duggan attended a basketball game in Junction City on Dec. 5 to watch their granddaughter, Kaylee Hall, play.
Carl and Kathy Hubbard of Wellington brought dinner to her mother, Adeline Bernhardt, Sunday and put up her Christmas decorations for her.

Mike and Jennifer Jay and Cody of Hillsboro, Brad Backhus and Paul and Edna Backhus attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony at St. Luke Hospital in Marion on Dec. 4 and toured the facility.

Members of the Red Hat Society met Dec. 2 at the home of Karolyn Schlesener of rural Herington. Those present included Anita Hummel, Ramona Goracke and Betty Schlesener of Hope, Alice Bell, Rosemary Deines, Barb Askew and Rhea Kolling of Herington, Ramona Beisel, Leona Kleiber and Dee Duggan. They enjoyed their traditional cookie exchange and dessert.

A number of Tampa people attended visitation Nov. 30 and funeral services Dec. 1 morning for Leiand Kaiser. Kaiser spent most of his life in the Durham area and had many friends here.
