CORRESPONDENTS: Tampa promotes 125th birthday

Tampa’s quasquicentennial committee decorated a car for the Fourth of July parade in Ramona. Connie McMahan drove the convertible with Clark and Kathy Davis and Betty Mueller riding in the car throwing candy and handing out flyers promoting Tampa’s 125th birthday celebration Aug. 25.

Lucille Kerbs gained another great-grandchild with the birth of Porter Ison Kerbs on July 1. His parents are Clayton and Leah Kerbs of Topeka. Glenn and Eloise Kerbs are grandparents. Porter weighed 5 pounds, 15 ounces and measured 19 inches.

Many Tampa people attended services Sunday and Monday morning for Rhonda Holub at the church in Pilsen.

Jon and Michele Bauer, Evan and Audrey of Atlanta, Ga., spent Tuesday and Wednesday visiting Tillie Hein and Jim and Kris Srajer, Grant and Cole. They cooked out at the Srajer home Tuesday evening.

Delores Siggs of Goddard visited Adeline Bernhardt Tuesday afternoon.

Margaret and Bob Grochowsky and Kathi Sutton and Meaghan of Topeka visited Mary and Ron Clemmer on Monday afternoon.

Tom and Dee Duggan attended the Independence Day celebration in Ramona and helped in the Knights of Columbus concession stand.

Gathering for an Independence Day barbecue at the home of Frank and Anna Mae Stika were Lori Moldenhauer and Ronnie and Lisa Hanschu and Anna and Tien Antoczyk. Nikki Stenzel and Mark Gilford of Manhattan were additional morning visitors.

Lenora Graham of Florence and Galen Graham of San Antonio, Texas, met Gary and Carole Spohn and Georgia Spohn for dinner out Sunday.

Lucille Kerbs spent Sunday with Tim and Marchelle Kerbs of Salina. Other guests were April and Mark Reidy, Cierra, Joshua and Gracie of Manhattan, and Molly Kerbs and Raymond Deiser of Salina.

Jane Vajnar met high school classmates for supper Sunday in Ellsworth. Gwen Starver Rivers of Wadsworth, Ohio, was in the area for a family party. She went to Ellsworth High her first two years, before her family moved to Pennsylvania. Most of the group had not seen her since. En route Vajnar visited briefly with Marc and Wendy Stroede in Kanopolis.

Visitors of Tom and Dee Duggan during the week were Amber Peterson, Connie McMahan, and Catarina Rziha.

Don and Stacy Clemmer of Salina took Mary and Ron Clemmer to the rural Salina home of Steve and Cynthia Dunning for a barbecue Saturday honoring Chris and Dahn Walker, Cierra and Corbin of Singapore, who are there on vacation.

Adeline Bernhardt spent Thursday and Friday with Carl and Kathy Hubbard of Wellington. Kathy took her to Wichita for an appointment Friday. Kaylee Hall of Herington was an overnight guest Thursday of her grandparents, Tom and Dee Dugan.
