County hires emergency manager

The county commission has come to the end of its search for an emergency manager, deciding to hire Randy Frank of Clermont, Iowa.

Frank has more than 10 years of emergency management experience, and has worked with organizations such as Homeland Security and FEMA.

Commissioners said the decision came down to Frank and another applicant from Washington.

“We were kind of shocked with the quality of applicants,” Chairman Randy Dallke said.

Frank is expected to begin work anytime between mid-October and the beginning of November.

The county has yet to hire a new appraiser.
