Historical society to seek members

Marion County Historical Society, now officially registered as a non-profit corporation, will be seeking to attract residents and property owners as members.

The group, which seeks to preserve and promote the county’s history, may eventually apply to be a federally certified charity.

The group’s directors met June 20 at Harvey House Museum in Florence and will meet again 5:30 p.m. July 18 at Peabody Township Library.
