NEW JAILINGS

Paul F. Baatrup, 23, Wichita, jailed Friday for 48 hours on court orders. Previously jailed six times for a total of 100 days between April 15, 2019, and Aug. 15, 2021. Previous jailings were on court orders twice and on suspicion of violating offender registration three times.

Alejandro X. Luna, 43, Topeka, arrested Thursday by a sheriff’s deputy on suspicion of distributing a controlled substance and possession of stimulants. Held in lieu of a $10,000 bond.

Melissa A. Ramsey, 50, Florence, jailed Thursday for failing to appear in court. Released 20 minutes later on her own recognizance, promising to pay $500 if she again fails to appear. Previously jailed Aug. 16 on suspicion of possessing stimulants and drug paraphernalia and driving on the wrong side of the road.

Kelby J. Schmidt, 30, Halstead, arrested Feb. 14 for allegedly violating his probation. Released eight hours later after posting a $10,000 bond. Previously jailed 10 times for a total of 50 days between Feb. 10, 2022, and Dec. 17, 2023. Previous jailings were on court orders six times, for allegedly violating his probation, and on suspicion of interfering with law enforcement, being a pedestrian under the influence of drugs or alcohol, criminal damage to property, attempted harassment via a telecommunications device, and reckless driving.

Brandon S. Toon, 39, Florence, jailed Feb. 14 for three times failing to appear in court. Held in lieu of a $15,000 bond. Previously jailed nine times for a total of 64 days between May 14, 2020, and Nov. 9, 2023. Previous jailings were for allegedly violating his probation twice, for failing to appear in court 22 times, and on suspicion of criminal damage to property, criminal trespassing, trafficking in contraband in a correctional facility, displaying an improper license plate, and possessing a controlled substance (twice), marijuana (three times), stimulants, and drug paraphernalia (three times).

Lauren R. Wolf, 39, Peabody, arrested Friday by Peabody police for failing to appear in court. Released Sunday after posting a $2,500 bond.
