County purchases tree saw

Staff writer

Marion County Commission voted to purchase a Montezuma tree saw Wednesday for $5,592 from Ag Power of Hillsboro.

Marion County Road and Bridge Superintendent John Summerville said there was enough money in the department’s 2008 budget to purchase the saw for a skid steer.

Commissioner Randy Dallke said he was in favor of getting the equipment, but he would prefer to see it come out of an equipment line item on the budget instead of the general fund.

Other bids were $6,000 from Prairieland Partners of Marion and $7,727 from Straub International of Marion.
