County schools set to start

Even as summer events continue, the start of school is just around the corner.


Centre enrollment is open through Aug. 17. New student and online enrollment assistance will be 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday. Open house is planned for 5 to 7 p.m. Aug. 16.

Classes for first through 12th grades will begin Aug. 17, the same day as preschool and kindergarten screening. School will start the next day for them.


Enrollment will be 6 to 9 p.m. Aug. 2 and 8 a.m. to noon Aug. 3. Classes will start Aug. 17.


Parent orientation for sixth graders will be at 6 p.m. and for ninth grader at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 10. Elementary school “meet your teacher night” will be 5:30 to 7 p.m. Aug. 15. The first day of classes will be Aug. 17.


In Marion, enrollment packets may be picked up from 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Sports and Aquatics Center and dropped off there from 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Aug. 2; at Marion Elementary, 7 p.m. Aug. 22.

Open house at Marion High School will be 7 p.m. Aug. 15. At Marion Elementary School, it will be 6 p.m. Aug. 16.

The first day of classes for grades one through seven and nine through 12 will be Aug. 17. Eighth grade will start a day later, the same day as a middle school pool party.

Kindergarten classes will start Aug. 21.


Enrollment will be Aug. 3. with classes starting Aug. 16.
