County talks administrator

County commissioners Monday discussed hiring a recruiting firm to find a county administrator.

“I think what would be helpful is knowing what you want before you send it out,” county clerk Tina Spencer said.

Commissioner Randy Dallke said he thought the county should revert to having three commissioners. Commissioner Jonah Gehring said he would not disagree but wanted to see how an administrator worked out first.

Voters voted against an administrator in a 2017 non-binding referendum, but commissioners voted afterward to pursue hiring one.
