Couple exchange vows in Missouri

Sarah Jeffery and Erik Korte were married May 4 at Wine Country Gardens, Defiance, Mo. Ian Michael Korte officiated at the evening ceremony. Readers were Kyle Jeffery and Erin Hauser.

The bride is a daughter of Karen and Bryan Jeffery, St. Louis, Mo., and granddaughter of Don and Wanda Jeffery, Florissant, Mo.; Dorothy Robinson of Richards, Mo.; and the late Bruce Robinson.

The groom’s parents are Karen and Gary Korte of Emporia. He is a grandson of Forrest and Marie Anderson of Burdick, Mary Korte of Arkansas City, and the late Tony Korte.

Guests were seated by Kyle Jeffery, Jayson Hauser, Danny Floret and Lee Winchester.

Vocalists were Connie Reinhardt and Gary Korte. The Landolfi String Quartet provided music for the ceremony and cocktail hour.

Katie Loula of Springfield, Mo., attended the bride as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Mary Shearer, Amy Boedeker, Shawna Kauffman, and Mitali Pakvasa.

Serving the groom as best man was Brandon Pienaar of Cape Town, South Africa. Groomsmen were Jim Blackburn, Bill Cover, Glenn Vicary and Alex Bajorek.

Guestbook attendant was Erin Hauser. Sarah Coats and Stacey Bates were program attendants.

A reception followed the ceremony.

The bride is a graduate of Hazelwood East High School, St. Louis, Mo., and received a bachelor’s degree and a medical doctorate from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She is completing a pediatric residency at the University of Louisville, where she will be chief resident next year.

The groom is a graduate of Emporia High School and received a bachelor’s degree from Southwest Missouri State University. He holds a master’s degree and is working toward a doctorate in biochemistry and molecular biology at the University of Louisville.

The couple resides in Louisville.

The groom’s parents were hosts for a rehearsal dinner May 2 at the Wild Horse Grill in Chesterfield, Mo.
