Cover crop guide available

A cover crop guide for Kansas fruit and vegetable growers is now available from Kansas Rural Center.

“Growing Over Cover: A Kansas Specialty Crop Grower’s Guide to Cover Crops” is KRC’s latest in a series of guides for Kansas growers.

Written by Jim French of KRC and Cary Rivard, Kim Oxley and Tom Buller, all of Kansas State University Extension, the 32-page guide details soil health principles and best choices for cover crops for specialty crop operations.

The guide includes planting tips for cover crops, what cover crops to plant, and establishing and terminating cover crops.
