Criminal cases

This information was the most current on file in criminal division of Marion County District Court as of July 13. Information often is not available until more than a week after hearings. Journal entries must be checked by the defense, prosecution, and judge before they are filed.

Susan E. Gambrel, 707 W. Kansas Ave. Lot 16, McPherson; July 2 bond appearance continued to Aug. 6 on motion to revoke probation.

Brian A. Solis; placed on house arrest for six days June 13 with electronic monitoring not required; allowed to leave house for treatment and meetings; placed back on supervised probation for 12 months.

Daniel V. Catlin II, 210 W. 6th St., Florence; sentenced June 18 for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol; sentenced to 90-day controlling term, 48 hours in jail, and 12 months supervised probation; ordered to pay $138 court costs, $22 surcharge, $60 probation fee, $750 fine, and $45 booking fee; ordered to complete Alcohol Information School, inpatient/outpatient treatment, and drug and alcohol evaluation and to follow its recommendations; ordered to perform 20 hours of community service; forbidden from entering businesses that make most of their revenue from sale of alcohol; forbidden from driving without a valid license and a tagged and insured vehicle.

Adrian Jarod Clay, 4831 Richmond Knoll Lane, Fresno, Texas; preliminary hearing continued from June 27 to July 11 on a charge of fail to register as a sex offender.

Chase Spindler, 200 W. 7th, Lincolnville; preliminary hearing continued from June 27 to Aug. 22 on charges of residential burglary, three counts of felony theft, 13 counts of misdemeanor theft, and criminal damage to property; criminal complaint says items stolen were six rifles, three shotguns, two chain saws, two shotgun cases, two fishing reels, a television set, a circular saw, and a 50-state quarter collection.

Charles G. Brown, 403 N. Walnut, Peabody; two counts of giving a worthless check dismissed July 2 because all fees were paid.

Benjamin E. Keough, 843 Holly, Peabody; information filed July 12; defendant charged with possession of marijuana without a taxation stamp, possession of an hallucinogenic drug (marijuana), and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Dallen Thompson, 501 N. B St., Ramona; information filed July 12; defendant charged with vehicular burglary, criminal damage to property, and misdemeanor theft.

Traffic

Jamie S. Holland, 1008 Hwy. 18, Abilene; pleaded no contest June 20 to transportation of alcohol in an open container; charges of driving while license canceled, suspended, or revoked and no proof of liability insurance dismissed; sentenced to five-day controlling term, suspended for six months; ordered to pay $150 fine, $125 attorney fees, $98 court costs and surcharge; forbidden from driving unless licensed.

Pascual Medina Hernandez, 17311 E. 40th Hwy J19, Independence, Mo.; first appearance June 20 on charges of speeding (76 mph in a 65-mph zone) and driving without being licensed; counsel appointed and arraignment scheduled for July 18.

Jose Alejandro De La Torre, 501 N. Brady St. No. 48, Abilene; first appearance continued from June 20 to July 18 on charges of speeding (81 mph in a 65-mph zone), no driver’s license.
