Cameron D. Baker, 38, Junction City, formally was charged Feb. 27 with possession of methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia; driving while his license was canceled, suspended or revoked; and having no proof of insurance.
A charge of violation of a protection order filed April 8, 2022, against Seth A. Banning 21, Marion, was dismissed Feb. 13.
Fay A. Britton, 44, Hillsboro, pleaded guilty Feb. 15 to driving without a valid driver’s license and was ordered to pay $208.
Justin M. Carpenter, 24, Indianapolis, pleaded no contest Feb. 24 to distribution of cocaine and possession of marijuana without a drug tax stamp. Charges of possession of psilocybin mushrooms with intent to sell, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, distribution of drug precursors and paraphernalia, and criminal possession of a weapon were dismissed.
A bench warrant was issued Feb. 15 for Erika Negrette Lara after she failed to appear in court Feb. 14 on charges of driving while her license was canceled, suspended or revoked and having no proof of insurance.
In one of 50 cases being reviewed because of an alleged error in a July 10 arrest by former deputy Joel Womochil, Eduardo R. Ortiz was allowed Feb. 13 to withdraw his Sept. 28 plea of no contest to distribution of methamphetamine and instead entered a plea of no contest to possession of marijuana. He was sentenced to a year’s probation and ordered to pay $253. Charges of distribution of methamphetamine, criminal possession of a weapon, possession of drug paraphernalia, and transporting liquor in an open container were dismissed.
Brenda S. Phillips, 65, Marion, was sentenced Feb. 14 to 18 months’ probation and drug treatment for possession of methamphetamine.
The probation of Samuel I. Reffett, 40, Durham, for criminal possession of a firearm and possession of marijuana was revoked Feb. 14, and he was ordered to spend 10 days in jail. In a separate case on the same day, he was sentenced to a year’s probation for circumvention of an ignition interlock device.
Rexana J. Siebert, 46, Florence, pleaded no contest Feb. 22 to interference with law enforcement. A second charge of interference with law enforcement, two counts of battery of a law enforcement officer, and domestic battery were dismissed.
Brandon S. Toon, 38, Florence, pleaded no contest Feb. 13 to two counts of possession of methamphetamine and one count of attempted traffic of contraband in a correctional facility. The pleas were from a total of 20 charges filed against him in seven criminal cases. The remaining charges were dismissed. Those charges include three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, two counts of possession of marijuana, and one count each of driving in violation of his driver’s license restrictions, having improper registration, criminal trespass, criminal damage to property, driving while his license was canceled, suspended, or revoked, and criminal deprivation of a motor vehicle.
Briannia C. Washington, 28, Peabody, pleaded no contest Feb. 15 to driving without a valid license and speeding. She was ordered to pay $295. Dismissed was a charge of driving while her license was canceled, suspended, or revoked.
Ronnie P. Winters, 27, Marion, formally was charged March 2 with battery.
