League runners to compete at Halstead

Four of five county cross-country teams will compete this Thursday at a Wheat State League meet at Wedgwood Golf Course near Halstead.
Hillsboro
Riley Richert placed third last Thursday at a cross-country meet at Sterling.
As a team, the Trojans girls also finished third. Quinlyn Funk was fifth, and Jaidyn Fantz 12th.
All six girls logged personal records for times. Five out of seven boys did as well.
The Trojans will be running Thursday at Halstead.
Goessel
Eli Gaeddert set a meet record of 16:30.01 in finishing first out of 86 runners Thursday at a cross-country meet for which the Bluebirds were hosts at the Bethel College course in North Newton.
All four boys on the team placed. Aidan Impson was 21st; Ezekiel Guhr, 45th; and Eduardo Segurado, 52nd. They took fifth place as a team.
Madelyn Olson ran her season best, finishing 26th out of 55 with a time of 23:45.91. Lara Unger came in 45th; Elaina Graberm 47th.
Goessel will race Thursday at Halstead
Marion
Eli Klenda ran away with fifth place Thursday in the Goessel meet. Among girls, Brooklyn Beery led with a 14th-place finish.
Marion will travel to Hutchinson for a league meet Thursday.
Centre
Centre runners didn’t place Thursday at Goessel.
“Junior high kids continue to shine and do really well, and high school boys keep running hard and working hard,” coach Caleb Reimer said.
The Cougars also will compete Thursday at Halstead.
