Crystle Deering

Crystle M. Deering, 95, died Nov. 9, 2009, at Golden Living Center in Cottonwood Falls.

She was born Crystle Jones on July 24, 1914, at Matfield Green, the daughter of Elmer and Mary (Harlan) Jones. She was a 1932 graduate of Matfield Green High School.

On May 29, 1932, she married George Deering. The couple had one daughter, Rita, who passed away in 1970. Mr. Deering died in 1985.

Crystle was a homemaker and devoted mother. She was a member of Matfield Green Community Church and the New Century Club, both of Matfield Green. She was also active in the Ball Malcon Post 5 American Legion Auxiliary at Emporia and a life member of the VFW National Home at Eaton Rapids, Mich.

Crystle was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter; a brother, Harold; and a sister, Hila Pauline Jones.

She is survived by a nephew, Larry Jones of Leon.

A funeral service was at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Matfield Green Community Church with the Rev. Mike Longden officiating.

Interment was at Matfield Green Cemetery. Viewing and visitation was from 9 a.m. until time of service at the church on Saturday.

A memorial has been established with Asera Care Hospice of El Dorado and Matfield Green Cemetery.
