Services for former undersheriff David V. Huntley, 66, who died Aug. 30 at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, were Saturday at Valley United Methodist Church in Marion.
He will be buried later in Hillcrest Cemetery, Florence.
Born Sept. 21, 1955, in Florence, to Harold M. and Lois (Weyand) Huntley, he graduated from Marion-Florence High School and married Erin Miller on Jan. 15, 1991, at Florence Christian Church. She survives.
Besides his wife, other survivors include sons Brandon Lee Huntley and David Huntley; brother Jack Huntley; and sister Kris Hyson.
His parents and brother Mike Huntley preceded him in death.
A memorial has been established with the Marion County sheriff’s office canine unit.
Huntley was chief of police for Florence, and worked with Marion County and Harvey County sheriffs’ offices.
