To the editor:

I opened my City bill and read “great news...” regarding the return of twice a week refuse pickup.

I was very disappointed in the “great” news and was saddened that someone or some people would consider this plan great news.

What does this say about the town of Marion? We don’t have a place for single-stream recyclables and towns that are much smaller than Marion are will have these drop-off locations in their towns.

How can we, as a community, be proud that we “get” to return to increased refuse pickup?

We should be making more efforts to recycle, not increase refuse pickup.
