Distant admirer
To the editor:
Let me first say I love receiving your newspaper in my mailbox! The only thing that could be any sweeter would be to receive it in my mailbox as a citizen of your grand city. One can still dream!
Speaking of dreaming, I can definitely get behind all of your proposals on improving the lives for the good people of Marion: recruiting solid candidates for area industries and academics, even more so retaining good students who will see a future in growing with and giving back to their community, providing a stable future for themselves and their possible future families. Villages become towns, which grow into cities. That growth only happens and continues with a vibrant, well-established community of great people — young, old, and every age in between.
I see that the winter sports of basketball and wrestling are doing a fantastic job of building and bringing community pride to the entire area! As a former hockey goalie, I am sad to see there may not be any area hockey teams. Congratulations to all those that were featured in your stories and in those great pictures.
Finally, to Norm Mueller of Denver, Please do not sugar coat your words in your next letter to the editor. Sorry to the 49% of the country that voted differently than I did, but I could not agree any more than 100% with you, Norm.
May the New Year bring less anxiety for the losing side. God bless our troops, first responders, our 47th president and the entire United States of America. Eric Meyer and your blessed mother are forever going to be seen as heros.
