Dolores Meredith Ottensmeier, 85, formerly of Marion, went home to be with the Lord on September 30, 2014, at Asbury Park of Newton.

She was born Dolores Meredith Edmunds on March 23, 1929. Born in Marion, Kansas, she was the daughter of John and Ellen Edmunds. She was the youngest of six children. On May 7, 1950, she married the love of her life, Elmer John Ottensmeier.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer and all of her siblings: Margaret Jones, Don, Bill, John and Bob Edmunds; twin infant siblings, Max and Maxine and a son-in-law, Harry Brandenberger.

Survivors include a daughter, Cherri Brandenberger of Newton; a son, Mark Ottensmeier and his wife, Lisa, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; five grandchildren: John Ottensmeier of Marion, Ryan Brandenberger of Storm Lake, Iowa, Jessica Ottensmeier of Wichita, Ashley Ottensmeier of New York, New York, and Katie Brandenberger of Wheaton, Illinois; five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was Thursday, October 2, from 1 to 7 p.m. with family greeting friends from 5 to 7 p.m., at Zeiner Funeral Home. The graveside service was at 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 3, 2014, at the Marion Cemetery with Pastor Ryan Brandenberger officiating.

A memorial fund has been established with Samaritan’s Purse in care of Zeiner Funeral Home, 205 Elm, Marion, Kansas 66861.
