Douglas Bass

Douglas Dean Bass, 62, of Troy, Mich., died Aug. 25, 2008, at his home.

Born Feb. 8, 1946, at Marion, he was the son of Carl and Bess Bass.

He was preceded in death by his father and sister, Annabelle Schwartz.

Survivors include children, Amee Bezanis and husband Gregory, Sara Bass, and Carl Bass and wife Heather; mother, Bess Bass of Marion; sister and husband, Carlita and Bill Erickson; brother and wife, Robert and Laura Bass; grandchildren, Bess and Billie Bezanis and Carl James (C.J.) Bass; nephews and nieces, John and Clara Price, Joe and Julie Price and Andrew Schwartz; great-nephews and nieces, Samantha, Sydney, Ben, Caitlyn, and Andrew.

A remembrance service was held with his friends Sunday evening at Price Funeral Home, Troy, Mich.

A memorial service was conducted Thursday afternoon at Eastmoor United Methodist Church, Marion, with the Rev. Mike Eurit officiating.

Inurnment was in Claney Cemetery, Marion.

A memorial fund has been established with the American Red Cross.
