EXPANDED EULOGIES

Edward G. Silhan, 83, of Marion, passed away Thursday, June 14, 2018, at St. Luke Living Center in Marion.

Edward was born Nov. 16, 1934, in Marion County to William and Elsie (Cerney) Silhan.

He and Therese (Hotze) Silhan were married in 1959 in Wichita.

Edward was a lifelong resident and farmer in Marion County.

He is survived by his wife, Therese, of the home; sons Edward (and wife Niki) Silhan of Lincolnville and Joseph (and wife Heather) Silhan of Marion; daughters Linda (and husband Bob) Schimmel of Salina, Karen (and husband Bill) Shelby of Salina, and Nancy (and husband Jack) Hopkins of Topeka; sister Rita (and husband Francis) Steiner; 15 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents, infant daughter Janet, three brothers, and three sisters.

Services were Monday, June 18, 2018, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Pilsen. Burial was at Pilsen Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to the Chaplain Kapaun Legacy Fund. Contributions can be sent in care of Zeiner Funeral Home, P.O. Box 6, Marion, KS 66861.
