Edwards, Klenda exchange vows June 4

Katherine Lynn Edwards and Gregory Michael Klenda were united in marriage June 4 at St. Isidore’s Catholic Student Center in Manhattan.

Parents of the couple are Bill Edwards of Olsburg, Dianna Edwards of St. George, and Val and Julie Klenda of Lincolnville.

The bride’s grandparents are Bob and Bonnie Edwards of Olsburg and Joyce Walker and the late Donald Walker of Shawnee Mission.

The groom’s grandparents are Theresa Klenda and the late Leonard Klenda of Lincolnville and George and Kathleen Oborny of Marion.

The matron of honor was Erin Plummer, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Mary Gardner and Kate Hackbart, friends of the bride.

The best man was Alfonse Klenda, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Brian Klenda and Phillip Klenda, brothers of the groom.

A dinner and dance reception followed the ceremony at the Flush Hall.

The bride is a 2004 graduate of Rock Creek High School, 2009 graduate of Kansas State University with a bachelor of science in animal science, and a 2011 graduate of KSU with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. The bride is employed by Barta Animal Hospital of Independence.

The groom is a 2001 graduate of Centre High School, 2003 graduate of Hutchinson Community College with an associate of arts and a 2006 graduate of Kansas State University with a bachelor of science in animal science. The groom is employed by Russell Jones Ranch of Independence.

After a honeymoon to St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, the couple is at home in Independence.
