James Scott, Angie Brenzikofer, and Ryan Johnson were elected to Burns City Council in the write-in election April 3.
Provisional ballots, 11, and seven other ballots were added to the totals Monday at the beginning of the Marion County Commission meeting. Scott led the way with 29 votes, while Brenzikofer collected 28, and Ryan Johnson had 21.
Other top vote getters in Burns were Steve Chevront with 20 and Daniel S. Huls with 11.
“They had a stronger turnout than Hillsboro,” County Commissioner Randy Dallke noted.
“And they had nobody on the ballot,” County Clerk Carol Maggard added.
Todd Heitschmidt and Jerry Dieter were still the top vote getters for Marion with 177 and 143 votes respectively. Steve Smith collected 123 votes.
Shelby Dirks and Byron McCarty were handily re-elected in Hillsboro with 34 and 21 votes respectively. There were two write-in candidates who received a vote apiece in Dirks district and one write-in candidate receiving a vote in McCarty’s district.
