Ella Mae Barrett

Ella Mae Barrett, 91, of Parsons, died March 4 at the Good Samaritan Society, Parsons.

Born April 1, 1918, in Oakland, to Fred E. and Bertha Belle (Markley) Hopkins, she graduated from Highland Park High School in Topeka.

She married Benjamin Barrett March 19, 1938, in Topeka. The couple made their home in Florence. She was a homemaker and a member of First Christian Church, Florence.

Benjamin died July 26, 2000. A brother and a sister also preceded her in death.

Survivors include two sons, Benjamin of Aurora, Colo., and Tom of Parsons; four grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were Monday morning at Hillcrest Cemetery, Florence.

A memorial fund has been established with the church.
