Elsie Burkholder

Elsie M. Burkholder, 74, of Marion, died May 19 at Marion Assisted Living.

She was born May 2, 1937, in Marion, to Lonnie and Irene (McKibben) Smith. She graduated from Marion High School.

She was a homemaker.

She married Donald M. Burkholder in 1955. He preceded her in death, as did two brothers, Nathan and James Smith.

Survivors include a son, Jerry of Topeka; two daughters, Jackie Torgerson of Point Huron, Mich., and Penny Antoszyk of Marion; her mother, Irene Richmond of Marion; 16 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was Monday at Eastmoor United Methodist Church, Marion.

Burial was in Marion Cemetery.
