Broadcasts about these fire and ambulance calls were monitored this past week by the newspaper.

Aug. 11

10:40 a.m. — A 51-year-old man with low blood sugar near US-77 and 50th Rd., refused to be taken to a hospital by Marion ambulance. Peabody ambulance also was on scene.

7:33 p.m. — A man who fell in the 300 block of S. Lincoln St., Marion, was taken to St. Luke Hospital by Marion ambulance.

10:55 p.m. — A 5-month-old infant was bleeding from his nose in the 400 block of N. Sycamore St., Peabody. His parents refused to have the baby taken to a hospital by Peabody ambulance.

Aug. 12

3:05 a.m. — A 69-year-old man who was having a seizure in the 100 block of S. Cedar St., Marion, was taken to St. Luke by Marion ambulance.

No dispatches were recorded from 12:56 p.m. to 2:01 p.m.

5:03 p.m. — A 69-year-old man who was having seizures in the 100 block of S. Cedar St., Marion, was taken to Newton Medical Center by Marion ambulance. Hillsboro ambulance met Marion ambulance at Indigo Rd. and US-50 to assist.

thursday

7:04 p.m. — A 72-year-old woman who fell near 340th and Limestone Rds., refused to be taken to a hospital by Tampa ambulance.

2:38 p.m. — Marion, Hillsboro, and Florence firefighters and Marion ambulance were called to an oven on fire in a house near Fairway Dr. and Tanglewood St. The appliance was unplugged and no flames were visible. Hillsboro and Florence firefighters were canceled.

9:13 p.m. — A 71-year-old woman, who was having chest pains at Cottonwood Point at Marion Reservoir, refused to be taken to a hospital by Marion ambulance.

11:06 p.m. — A 59-year-old man in the 200 block of S. Buller St., Goessel, who was having abdominal pain after a recent surgery, was taken to Newton Med by Hillsboro ambulance.

friday

12:27 a.m. — Hillsboro firefighters were called to Tabor College Townhouses for a fire alarm. No fire or smoke was found and the alarm was reset.

1:54 a.m. — A 81-year-old woman who was short of breath and dizzy in the 200 block of S. Main St., Hillsboro, was taken to Hillsboro Community Hospital by Hillsboro ambulance.

4:43 a.m. — An HCH patient was taken to Newton Med by Hillsboro ambulance.

8:10 a.m. — A 67-year-old woman in the 900 block of N. Locust St., Peabody, who possibly was having a heart attack, was taken to Newton Med by Marion ambulance. Peabody ambulance also responded to the call.

3:23 p.m. — A 61-year-old man near US-77 and 50th Rd., who felt dehydrated, refused to be taken to a hospital by Peabody ambulance. Burns first respond also was paged but did not respond.

6:42 p.m. — A Parkside resident with a doctor’s order, was transferred to St. Luke by Hillsboro ambulance.

8:11 p.m. — A St. Luke patient was transferred to Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, by Marion ambulance.

11:09 p.m. — A 78-year-old woman was transferred from St. Luke to Rock Regional Hospital, Derby, by Marion ambulance.

saturday

2:27 p.m. — Officer requested Marion ambulance to respond to the 600 block of Main St., Florence. The patient refused to be taken to a hospital. Florence first responder also was on scene.

6:39 p.m. — Goessel firefighters were called to an emergency alarm going off in the 600 block of E. Marion St., Goessel. There was no emergency. The resident needed help shutting off the alarm.

7:21 p.m. — A St. Luke patient was transferred to Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital, El Dorado, by Marion ambulance.

9:22 p.m. — A 64-year-old woman who had chest pains at Salem Home, Hillsboro, was taken to HCH by Hillsboro ambulance.

sunday

12:21 a.m. — A HCH patient was transferred to Via-Christi-St. Francis, Wichita, by Hillsboro ambulance.

4:33 p.m. — Hillsboro firefighters were called to a small grass fire at the Hillsboro Animal Center.

monday

12:06 a.m. — A patient from HCH was transferred to Salina Regional Medical Center by Hillsboro ambulance.
