FEB. 16

10:25 a.m. — A 53-year-old man who suffered a seizure in the 100 block of S. Cedar St. in Goessel was taken to Newton Medical Center by Hillsboro ambulance after being checked by a first responder from Goessel.

1:38 p.m. — Hillsboro firefighters determined that a plumbing problem set off a false fire alarm at Salem Home in Hillsboro.

3:14 p.m. — A fire alarm at Hillsboro Hometown Pharmacy proved to be a test.

6:29 p.m. — An 85-year-old woman who was feeling weak and vomiting in the 200 block of S. Washington St. in Hillsboro was taken to St. Luke Hospital, Marion, by Hillsboro ambulance. Hillsboro firefighters helped lift.

FEB. 17

12:45 a.m. — A 74-year-old man with chest pains and trouble breathing in the 300 block of Meadow Lane in Goessel was taken to Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, by Hillsboro ambulance. First responders from Goessel were paged but did not answer.

1:39 a.m. — Lincolnville and Lost Springs firefighters assisted Dickinson County firefighters in battling a fire a mile southeast of Herington on U Ave. east of US-56/77.

11:39 a.m. — A patient at Via Christi – St. Francis Hospital in Wichita was transferred by Hillsboro ambulance to Bethesda Home in Goessel.

12:14 p.m. — A patient with low hemoglobin at Salem Home, Hillsboro, was transferred to Newton Med by Marion ambulance.

THURSDAY

2:07 a.m. — A 70-year-old woman who suffered an apparent diabetic attack at a farmhouse north of US-56 and Nighthawk Rd. declined to be taken to a hospital by Hillsboro ambulance.

8:02 a.m. — A 57-year-old woman who fell and hurt her leg and arm in the Central National Bank parking lot in Marion was taken to Newton Med by Marion ambulance.

10:13 a.m. — A woman who had not fallen but needed help from Marion ambulance attendants to get upright declined to be taken to a hospital from the 500 block of S. Cedar St. in Marion.

12:13 p.m. — A St. Luke patient with heart failure was transferred to Newton Med by Marion ambulance.

5:52 p.m. — A first responder from Durham determined that a medical alarm from a residence near Jade and 300th Rds. was merely a test. A call for Tampa ambulance, which also had been summoned, was canceled.

6:21 p.m. — A 63-year-old woman complaining of double vision at a farmhouse west of Goldenrod and 100th Rds. was taken to Newton Med by Hillsboro ambulance. A first responder from Goessel assisted with the call.

7:29 p.m. — A 95-year-old woman with back pain was taken by Marion ambulance to St. Luke from the 1500 block of Victory Lane in Marion.

FRIDAY

8:13 a.m. — A 36-year-old diabetic woman in the 100 block of S. Washington St. in Hillsboro declined to be taken to a hospital by Hillsboro ambulance.

1:43 p.m. — A St. Luke patient was transferred to Salina Regional Health Center by Marion ambulance.

5:46 p.m. — A 24-year-old man who suffered a laceration in the 400 block of Hill St. in Florence declined to be taken to a hospital by Marion ambulance. Law enforcement officers also responded to the call. First responders from Florence did not answer a page.

7:05 p.m. — A 38-year-old woman was taken to Wesley by Marion ambulance, and a second victim was taken to Newton Med by Peabody ambulance after a two-vehicle accident at US-50 and Wagon Wheel Rd. Florence firefighters and rescue squad members remained on the scene for more than an hour. Removal of debris continued until almost midnight.

9:54 p.m. — A Hillsboro Community Hospital patient was transferred to St. Francis by Hillsboro ambulance.

10:50 p.m. — A hard-to-locate tree and grass fire near 120th and Old Mill Rds. was contained by Peabody firefighters.

SATURDAY

1:00 a.m. — An 86-year-old woman who fell at Peabody Health and Rehab was taken to Newton Med by Peabody ambulance.

1:42 a.m. — Hillsboro firefighters checked a residence in the 300 block of W. Grand Ave. in Hillsboro and found it to be safe after a gas pipe broke.

3:51 a.m. — A Newton Med patient was transferred back to Peabody Health and Rehab by Peabody ambulance.

1:34 p.m. — A 61-year-old woman who fell in the 400 block of S. Ash St. in Hillsboro called for an ambulance but went to a hospital on her own before Hillsboro ambulance arrived.

5:21 p.m. — A barrel fire in the 200 block of S. Birch St. in Hillsboro was extinguished within 10 minutes by Hillsboro firefighters.

5:26 p.m. — An unconscious 73-year-old diabetic woman was taken to HCH by Tampa ambulance from a farmhouse north of 360th and Limestone Rds.

8:42 p.m. — A 61-year-old woman was transferred from HCH to Wesley by Hillsboro ambulance.

11:50 p.m. — A 31-year-old woman complaining of dizziness and a headache in the 400 block of N. Vine St. in Peabody was taken to Newton Med by Peabody ambulance.

SUNDAY

8:07 a.m. — A 55-year-old woman who fell two days earlier and could not get out of bed in the 1300 block of E. Weldon St. in Marion was taken to St. Luke by Marion ambulance.

1:04 p.m. — Marion firefighters took nearly two hours to extinguish a rekindled fire from what had been controlled burning of wheat stubble on Nighthawk Rd. between 240th and 250th Rds.

2:24 p.m. — A 52-year-old man thought to be having a seizure in the 600 block of E. 2nd St. in Peabody was driven by private vehicle to Newton Med after Peabody ambulance did not answer a page and Marion ambulance was dispatched to the call.

4:29 p.m. — A 61-year-old diabetic man with high blood sugar was taken by Marion ambulance to HCH from a farmhouse north of US-56 and Nighthawk Rd. Marion firefighters, delayed at a train crossing, helped lift.

8:32 p.m. — A medical alert on behalf of a 58-year-old woman in the 500 block of S. Cedar St. was found to be an accidental alarm after Marion ambulance and Marion police arrived at the locked house.

10:36 p.m. — A 94-year-old suspected of having a stroke in the 300 block of Meadow Lane in Goessel was taken to Wesley by Hillsboro ambulance. The ambulance was diverted to Wesley by Newton Med. First responders from Goessel assisted with the call.

11:51 p.m. — A 60-year-old man was transferred from HCH to Wesley Woodlawn Hospital, Wichita, by Marion ambulance.

MONDAY

2:53 p.m. — A 71-year-old man suffering back pain and having trouble walking at a farmhouse near 140th and Indigo Rd. was taken to HCH by Hillsboro ambulance.

8:57 a.m. — A basketball hit a pull station for Centre High School’s fire alarm. Lost Springs and Lincolnville firefighters were notified of the false alarm.

11 a.m. — An automated alarm about someone falling at a Parkside Homes duplex in Hillsboro sent Hillsboro ambulance in search of a patient, but no one was found.

8:28 p.m. — An 82-year-old woman complaining of weakness was taken by Marion ambulance to St. Luke from the 200 block of N. Coble St. in Marion..
