Broadcasts about these fire and ambulance calls were monitored this past week by the newspaper:
MAY 17
2:52 p.m. — An uninjured 83-year-old woman who fell in a bedroom at Homestead Senior Residences in Marion was helped up by medics from Marion ambulance. She declined to be taken to a hospital.
7:17 p.m. — An 82-year-old man experiencing hip pain at Parkside Homes in Marion was taken to Hillsboro Community Hospital by Hillsboro ambulance.
MAY 18
6:53 p.m. — A 94-year-old woman who fell at Parkside Homes was helped up by medics from Hillsboro ambulance. She declined to be taken to a hospital.
THURSDAY
6:04 a.m. — A 57-year-old man complaining of injury after his car hit a cow or bull at 330th and Jade Rds. declined to be taken to a hospital by Tampa ambulance.
1:22 p.m. — On a physician’s orders, a 30-year-old woman diagnosed with pneumonia and having trouble breathing was transferred by Peabody ambulance from Peabody Health and Rehab to NMC Health, formerly Newton Medical Center.
2:02 p.m. — An 80-year-old woman who fell at an apartment at Hilltop Manor in Marion was checked by medics from Marion ambulance. She declined to be taken to a hospital.
2:45 p.m. — A 68-year-old man who tripped at a home in the 400 block of N. Spruce St. in Peabody was helped up by Peabody ambulance attendants. He declined to be taken to a hospital.
10:03 p.m. — Hillsboro ambulance radioed that it had gone to HCH to provide unspecified assistance to personnel there.
10:07 p.m. — Marion ambulance was summoned to the county jail to draw blood from an inmate suspected of being intoxicated.
10:50 p.m. — An HCH patient was transferred by helicopter to Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.
FRIDAY
9:22 a.m. — A false alarm caused by workers at Centre School briefly alerted Lost Springs firefighters.
12:50 p.m. — No one reported injuries, but Peabody ambulance still checked out two people involved in a two-vehicle accident at US-50 and Nighthawk Rd. Both declined to be taken to a hospital.
7:37 p.m. — A 32-year-old man, intoxicated or having a seizure in the 500 block of N. Elm St. in Peabody, was taken to HCH by Hillsboro ambulance. Peabody ambulance also responded.
SATURDAY
11:50 a.m. — A 76-year-old woman who tripped off a curb at Shari Flaming Center for the Arts at Tabor College was checked by medics from Hillsboro ambulance. She declined to be taken to a hospital.
2:27 p.m. — An 83-year-old man who suffered chest pains, lost consciousness, and fell at Sunrise Townhomes, Marion, was taken by Marion ambulance to St. Luke Hospital, Marion.
3:31 p.m. — A 75-year-old woman who was a trauma patient at HCH was transferred by Hillsboro ambulance to Ascension Via Christi St. Francis Hospital, Wichita.
9:12 p.m. — A 73-year-old woman who lost her balance, fell backward, and suffered head and rib injuries was taken by Hillsboro ambulance from Salem Homes in Hillsboro to HCH.
11:46 p.m. — A 76-year-old woman experiencing vomiting and weakness at a Salem Homes apartment was taken to HCH.
SUNDAY
7:45 a.m. — A 72-year-old female trauma patient was transferred by Hillsboro ambulance from HCH to St. Francis.
8:01 a.m. — Goessel firefighters assisted in battling a blaze 3½ miles south and 2 miles west of Goessel in McPherson County.
9:51 p.m. — Marion ambulance was summoned to the county jail to draw blood from an inmate suspected of being intoxicated.
MONDAY
12:58 p.m. — A 42-year-old woman experiencing stomach pain in the 300 block of S. Wilson St. in Hillsboro was taken to HCH by Hillsboro ambulance.
1:16 p.m. — A 48-year-old woman was transferred by Marion ambulance from St. Luke to Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.
7:57 p.m. — A 23-year-old woman with a gunshot wound was transferred by Marion ambulance from St. Luke to St. Francis.
