Couple announces engagement

Amy Tajchman of Marion and Greg Avant of Olathe announce their engagement and approaching marriage.

Parents of the couple are Charles and Amy Tajchman of Marion and Vernon and Julie Avant of Olathe.

The bride-elect is a 2004 graduate of Marion High School and a 2009 graduate of the University of Kansas with a bachelor’s degree in nursing. She is employed as a surgical nurse at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Mo.

Her fiancé is a 2002 graduate of Olathe South High School and a 2007 graduate of Emporia State University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He is employed at Farmer’s Insurance in Olathe.

The couple plan to marry April 10 in Marion.
