Enrollment in county schools to begin in August
Enrollment for most Marion County schools will begin early next month and classes will begin around the third week in August.
Centre
Aug. 1 — In-person and online enrollment
Aug. 3 — Special help and new student enrollment available at school library.
Aug. 17 — Open house, 5 to 7 p.m.
Aug. 18 — First day of school for most students.
Aug. 19 — Kindergarten and pre-kindergarten begin
A list for supplies will be available at https://www.usd397.com/ and at the open house.
Goessel
Aug. 3 — Enrollment, 6 to 9 p.m. Pre-K through 5th grade at elementary school. Grades 6 through 12 at junior high/high school.
Aug. 4 — Enrollment continues, 8 a.m. to noon. A mail-in option will be coming later this month.
Aug. 18 — First day of school.
Supply lists are available at Goessel Grocery and Deli or discount store. Free supplies will be available at enrollment for families in need.
Hillsboro
Aug. 18 — First day of school.
Enrollment dates have not been decided. Information will be available at https://www.usd410.net/ and mailed out to the parents when available.
Marion
Aug. 1 — Information packets distributed and enrollment accepted from 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Sports and Aquatic Center. Fees must be paid at the time.
Aug. 18 — First day of school for most students.
Aug. 19 — First day for 8th graders.
Aug. 22 — First day for kindergarten.
A health assessment is required for all new students. Physicals are required for seventh through 12th graders participating in athletics or cheerleading. A school supply list will be available at enrollment and at https://www.usd408.com/.
Peabody-Burns
Aug. 9 and 10 — Enrollment.
Aug. 16 — Open house at 6 p.m. at elementary school at 7 p.m. at junior high/high school.
Aug. 17 — First day of school.
A list of supplies can be found at https://www.usd398.net/. A newsletter will be posted there and emailed to parents. Applications for free and reduced-price lunches are available.
