Erano Albrecht
Erano John William Albrecht was given life by his Creator and was born on Sept. 1, 1923, at home on the family farm east of Lincolnville, Kan., the son of Rudolph and Ottilie (Krause) Albrecht.
On Sept. 30, 1923, Erano received the gift of Holy Baptism at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Lincolnville and became a child of God. He grew up on the family farm, attended school at Rural School No. 76, St. John’s Lutheran Parochial School, and Lincolnville High School where he graduated with the class of 1942.
After a period of instruction in the Evangelical faith, Erano made a public confession of faith in his Lord and Savior, promising to suffer all, even death, rather than fall away from it, and was confirmed in the Christian faith on May 30, 1937, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lincolnville. He was given 2 Corinthians 5:15 as his confirmation verse: “He died for all that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto Him which died for them and rose again.”
Erano remained a faithful member of Christ’s church and St. John’s Lutheran congregation of Lincolnville. He served the church in a number of capacities over the years of his membership.
Following his graduation from Lincolnville High School, Erano worked at the Herington Air Base during the war, delivered mail, and did custom combining.
Erano was united in marriage to Dorothy Rose Lietz of Herington, Kan., on Sept. 12, 1948, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Lyons Creek. This union was blessed with 65 years of companionship and three children.
Erano and Dorothy made their home on the farm four miles east of Lincolnville. He was a farmer all of his life, whose ambition was to preserve the land for future generations and leave it in a better condition than he had received it. He also desired to be of assistance to his children and grandchildren during their lives. He was of service to the community by serving on the Board of Education for Centre schools.
Erano passed away Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita at the age of 90 years and 28 days.
Erano was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Sylvester and Merle Albrecht; and sister, Ruth Gregg.
Erano is survived by his wife, Dorothy, of the home; two sons, Redge Albrecht and his wife, Terri, of Herington and Craig Albrecht and his wife, Caryn, of Herington; a daughter, Brenda Dittman and her husband, Duane, of Lincolnville; nine grandchildren, Jeana Jones (husband Marc), John Albrecht (wife Christina), Michael Albrecht (wife Christine), Ryan Albrecht (wife Alissa), Eric Albrecht (wife Cheryl), Andy Albrecht (wife Tifany), Kady Howard (husband Daniel), Heather Tajchman, and Danielle Grenz (husband Adam); 12 grandchildren, Megan, Aidan, Nolan, and Kaitlyn Jones, Anna Albrecht, Lauren Albrecht, Layton Albrecht, Katherine Albrecht, Lane and Jillian Albrecht, and Lexis and Kaigen Brewer; two brothers, Leland Albrecht of Marion and Gail Albrecht of Lindsborg; a sister, Lola Brockmeier of Herington; and many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
Service was 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 3, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Lincolnville. Interment was in the Lincolnville Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established with the church in care of Zeiner Funeral Home, P.O. Box 6, Marion, KS 66861.
