Ethel L. Winters

Ethel L. Winters, 71, died March 23 at Kidron Bethel Healthcare in North Newton. She was born Feb. 13, 1942, in Marion to Fred and Anna E. (Beisel) Brunner.

She was a homemaker and retired bookkeeper at Chisholm Middle School in Newton. She was a 1960 graduate of Marion High School and a former member of Circle Eight square dance club.

She married LeRoy “Bud” Winters on June 5, 1960, in Marion.

He survives of the home. She also is survived by two daughters, Denise Arrellano of Newton and Sheryl Stephens of Wichita; a sister, Evelyn Schmidt of Wichita; a niece, Jeanette Daugherty of Salina; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, LeRoy Brunner; and a sister, Elnora Vajnar.

Her funeral was Friday at Petersen Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. John Goering presiding. Visitation was Thursday at the funeral home. Burial was in Restlawn Gardens of Memory, rural Newton.

Memorial funds have been established for Harden Hospice and Eastside United Methodist Church.
