Eugene Klassen
Eugene W. Klassen, 77, of Ulysses, died May 23 at Satanta District Hospital in Satanta.
Born Aug. 21, 1932, in Marion County, to Pete P. and Anna Victoria (Wiebe) Klassen, he graduated from Lehigh High School.
He married Helen Koslowsky in June 1958 in Hillsboro. They moved to Ulysses in the 1960s.
He was truck driver, retiring in 1980 from Dekalb Seed Company.
His parents and his wife Helen, who died Dec. 7, 1994, preceded him in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Marreta Campbell of Hugoton; three brothers, Paul of Lehigh, James of Littleton, Colo., and Gerald of Denver, Colo.; and three grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at Ulysses Cemetery in Ulysses. A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Bethel Friends Church in Hugoton, with the Rev. Eric Mason and Michael Klassen officiating.
Memorial funds have been established with Satanta District Hospital Long Term Care Unit in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W Grant Avenue, Ulysses KS 67880.
