Faith Skibbe

Faith Joanne Skibbe, 82, passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2014, in her Louisville home after a battle with cancer.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2014, 11 a.m. at East Boulder Baptist Church, 7690 Baseline Rd., Boulder, Colo., officiated by Barry Seifert and Larry Dramann. Faith will be buried in a private service at Green Mountain Cemetery in Boulder.

She was born to Elma and Jonah Seifert on September 15, 1931 in Marion. One of five siblings, Faith graduated from Marion High School before marrying Robert E. Skibbe on Feb. 10, 1953. The couple lived in Boulder, Colo., and Tucson, Ariz., before settling in Louisville, Colo., in 1987.

Robert preceded Faith in death on March 18, 2000, as did Jonah (1986), Elma (1988) and her sisters, Vernetta Dunn (1999) and Betty Seifert (infant).

Faith accepted Christ as her savior, was baptized at age 13, and devoted her life to Jesus through raising her family and serving within the church.

She served in the church kitchen, nursery and vacation Bible school, sang in the church choirs, and ministered to wives of foreign national students.

In addition to her employment in the card department at Leanin’ Tree Publishing Company, Faith worked as church secretary for Southern Hills Baptist Church and East Boulder Baptist Church, both in Boulder, Colo.

Survivors include her brother, Dennis Seifert, of Topeka; her sister, Anita Weber, of Marion; her daughter, Denise (Grant) McCurry of Superior, Colo.; her son, Michael (Beth) Skibbe, of Longmont, Colo.; her daughter, Michelle (Bruce) Crawford of Phoenix, Ariz.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Contributions can be made in Faith’s name to East Boulder Baptist Church at 7690 E. Baseline Road, Boulder, CO 80303 or to Gideons International through http://www.gideons.org.

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.
