Ferne Regier, a former resident of Marion, will celebrate her 99th birthday Dec. 29.

She was born in Agricola on Dec. 29, 1913. After graduating from Marion High School, she worked as a telephone operator before marrying Leo Regier on Nov. 24, 1940, in Marion. He is deceased. She enjoys quilting, crocheting, and knitting.

She has three daughters, 11 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren. Her family and friends will join her for an open house celebration from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Dec. 29 in the commons room of Cedar Lake Village, Olathe.
