FFA members spruce up curbs

Marion-Florence FFA members painted house numbers on curbs Thursday as part of their community service day activity.

The students painted more than 300 house numbers during the day.

The goal of the chapter’s curb painting project is to provide clearly visible numbers for EMS responders to quickly find a location.

Another benefit of the project is to make it easier for visitors to find a specific address since not all house numbers are clearly displayed.

The FFA chapter re-painted several sections of town that were starting to fade including the north hill section and Cedar, Roosevelt, Freeborn, and Coble streets.

This activity was completed in conjunction with the school-wide community service day.
