Fire departments get insurance money from state

The state insurance department has issued Firemen’s Relief Association grants to county fire departments.
The grants are used for retirement annuities and life, health, and accident insurance for active members of the association.
Money can be borrowed by the fire department to purchase equipment, but must be paid back with interest.
County fire departments were given:
- Burns — $5,368.49.
- Durham — $2,253.55.
- Florence — $4,289.60
- Goessel — $10,087.20.
- Hillsboro — $16,003.06.
- Lehigh — $2,576.55.
- Lincolnville and Clear Creek — $6.730.
- Marion — $15,658.39
- Peabody — $11,897.26
- Peabody rural — $4,457.69.
- Tampa — $2,892.92.
- Ramona — $2,216.75.
- Lost Springs — $2,474.39.
