Fireworks rules vary by town

Each community in Marion County has its own fireworks regulations. Here’s a quick summary:

Florence

Fireworks may be sold and discharged 4 to 8 p.m. June 29 to July 1 and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. July 2 to 4.

Goessel

Fireworks may be sold and discharged from 8 a.m. to midnight July 1 and 2, noon to midnight July 3, and 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. July 4.

Hillsboro

Fireworks may be sold June 27 to July 6 and discharged from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. July 1 through 3 and 10 a.m. to midnight July 4. Discharge is limited to private property, not public streets. The fire chief may ban use of fireworks if weather requires.

Marion

Fireworks may be purchased and discharged from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. July 1 to 3 and 9 a.m. to midnight July 4.

Peabody

Fireworks may be sold and discharged 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. July 27 through 30, 8 a.m. to midnight July 1 through 4, and 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. July 5. The fireworks stand will sell fireworks from noon to 10 p.m. through Friday, then 9 a.m. through midnight Saturday through July 4.

Elsewhere in county

Fireworks may be sold and discharged from 8 a.m. to midnight June 27 to July 5. Fireworks are permitted outside city limits and on private property only, inside Lakeshore Dr. at Marion County Lake, and not at Marion Reservoir.
